Saying Goodbye to Seward

My feet have now stood on both ends of the Iditarod Trail.

I found myself at Mile 0 of the Historic Iditarod Trail on my last day in Seward.

I’m not going to lie… it was pretty cool!

It was just amazing to stand there in this place of history and try to imagine what it was like to be standing there in the past facing the length of the trail ahead having to deliver the mail or get supplies down that expanse.  What an adventure every day must have been.

I also visited the Sea Life Center and enjoyed a presentation by one of the aquarium educators about Stellar Sea Lions and Harbor Seals.  I learned a lot about both!

I am now officially “on the clock” for the Iditarod Summer Camp for Teachers and will be posting about that event here:  http://iditarodineducation.wordpress.com/
